How do you mean he's tame? I think hand tamed is more of an expression, meaning he's been handled - and pretty much any tame glider would have to have been hand-tamed. There are lots of "how-to" posts on bonding, so take a look around and see the recommendations. The only advice I can really think of is show your glider lots of love - and go at his/her pace. Oh, and bribery with lickey treats - works miracles! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Most gliders won't stay in your hand. Gliders are very active and independant and they don't like to be restrained. Given time, your glider will learn to trust you and with age, he'll calm down. Eventually, he might let you hold him in your hands, but there is no guarentee. My first glider, which I got when he was 13 weeks OOP and he is not almost 4 years old, still won't let me hold him in my hands. He is very bonded to me and he is very protective of me, but he likes his freedom... Instead of holding him in my hands, he usually just hangs out on my shoulder.

I have managed to train my gliders to come to me when I click my tongue, but only when they want to. I'd say it works with Gizmo about 95% of the time and about 65% of the time with Sprocket. It depends on their mood and the treat I'm offering! :-)

I have trained all of my gliders to stay on me, but they totally choose where they want to stay on me. *LoL* It's usually the shoulder or down the shirt.

But, they mostly want to explore and play. You are just one big tree to them!

In response on how to bribe them with the licky treats... I sometimes angle my hands so that they have to sit in my palm to get any yogurt (that is their treat of choice). They don't mind sitting on top of my hand, but they seem to feel restrained in my palm, usually. Damon is ok with it sometimes, and he's definitely bonding to me a lot, but most of the time he'd rather race from one hand, up my arm, across my shoulders, down the other arm and back again. This is especially true at night, when they are all hyper.

I agree with the others though - the idea of them being tame has more to do with them liking you, coming back to you when they are out playing and trusting you, than it does with them wanting to cuddle with you, or sit in your hands.

WHAT IF THEY ARE NOT AFRAID OF YOU, NEVER CRAB EXCEPT WHEN ITS SLEEP IS DISTURBED AND THE LONGEST THAT LASTS IS MAYBE 2 SECONDS. I CAN LET THEM OUT IN MY GLIDER ROOM AND THEY WANT TO PLAY TAG... RUN UP AND ATTACK SOMETHING QUICKLY & PLAYFULLY AND RUN AWAY. tO GET THEM IN THE CAGE IT TAKES A MEAL WORM OR JUST BRING OUT THE bonding BAG. HERES THE DEAL:
THEY BITE MY HAND, ITS WHAT FEEDS THEM SO IT EQUALS FOOD I THINK? THEY DON'T BITE IT ALL THE TIME JUST TO SAY WHATS UP , DRAW SOME BLOOD AND THEN GO ON THEIR MERRY WAY, NEVER LASTS FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS. DOES THIS EVER STOP, NO MATTER WHAT THIER MY GIRLS BUT, IS THIS NORMAL TO BE SO DOCILE IN ITS BEHAVOIR TOWARDS HUMANS( NO CRABBING, NOT SCARED OF PEOPLE, NEVER ATTACKS ETC.) AND STILL DRAW BLOOD/ THANKS

GliderJunction - I have a really hard time reading all caps - my eyes just kind of go all cross-eyed LOL, so I haven't read your previous post. I think a lot of people have the same problem, so maybe if you could repost without using all caps you would get more response.
