last week i bought what i believe to be an adult female sugar glider, she/he isnt that tame, will let me pet but will bite and not able to pick up, whats the best way to tame on? any suggestions? I currently am carrying him/her in a pocket in my sweatshirt, seems like it isnt working.

Hi Jen, Welcome to GC. Older gliders will bond but sometimes take longer. You have to work at her pace. Try leaving her in her cage and sit by it and talk to her. Or sit and read out loud so she becomes familiar with your voice. Offer her licky treats through the bars of the cage when she comes over to check you out. I would also suggest a bonding pouch worn under your sweat shirt (or what ever shirt) as it allows them to be closer to you.

If you have the chance, I strongly recommend the Sissy Pouch. If you go to Glider Things you will see a thread about "The original Sissy Pouch" These are THE best for bonding I have ever had.

There are some great bonding suggestions you can find if you go to the green links buttons at the top. Off Site links has bonding links there. Great information available.
Time and consistancy is your best friend right now (bribery like licky treats and meal worms work great too!)

Good luck with her and again, Welcome to GC!!!

Hi,
Everything Dancing said is true, I got 2 older gliders and it took about a week of just talking to them and sitting by them before I could really even touch them. When they finally let me near them I found licky treats to be a huge success and we were on a steady path to friendship. One of the boys took a bit longer than the other to come around but they both are doing great now, it's been about 2 months.

I am a new mom to a rescue glider we named Aidan. He is finally comfortable hanging off me and grooming me. I was wondering, he started making this clicking noise. it reminded me of what my rats do when they are content and happy. Is this the same thing for gliders? I'm very curious. It is a very quiet clicking sound. Has anyone ever heard this before?? Thanks!
