I'm new to the whole suggie family so I have a question. I want to start taking Aidan to work with me in his bonding pouch. Do I need to keep him away from light like a gremlin? Also, do I need to supply food and water or are them pretty much sleeping the entire day? I appreciate any response I can get. Aidan is doing better with me, still kind of moody at times, but who isn't right? lol

No you don't have to keep him away from light, he will not mulitply. ( good movie btw!) I personally pack a little glider bag where ever I go with my kiddos. You never know when someone may want a drink or little snack. As for sleeping all day, it depends on your little one, try it out and see, he will get use to your sounds etc, and I'm sure will sleep throught out the day with some practice if he doesn't do it already.! Good luck!

There's a thread with the title "Travel Bag" that may help you with ideas for things to take.

I stick a slice of raw sweet potato in the pouch with Snickers. She wakes up an munches on it throughout the day. She gets food and moisture from it.

Whats in my Glider snack bag:

To go water bottle
guava gerber baby food
papaya gerber baby food
juice,i usually change that up
dried papaya treats
cut up apple
Extra fleece
neosporin with pain relief
and a bonding pouch, God forbid something happen, I like to be prepared

I know that seems like a lot of stuff to bring, but I'm sure i've left something out. Just call me a worry wart..

Is it a full time job? I take mine and on my lunch break I give them a piece of my lunch. Since I make it a goal to eat fruit myself daily for lunch and a veggie I just give them a piece of it..we eat, I hang out w/ them for a bit, then its back in the pouch and back to work.
I wish you luck.

Mine don't really wake up during the day so normally I don't take food with me for them. I go to lunch on campus and sometimes buy a grape or two or a piece of canteloupe from the salad bar for them. They look at me really funny because the salad is sold by the ounce and if you buy only one piece they get confused, so usually its free. I have a water bottle for me that if i think they want some just pour a little out onto a plastic spoon and give to them. For me though feeding them throughout the day is just being motherly. 99 days out of 100 they sleep the whole day through.

I dont usually bring anything with me when I take Zayne with me. I dont take him out longer than a couple of hours though. I can tell when hes getting hungry because my bra starts moving a lot, LOL. I take him out, give him a few mealies (we're at home around his lunchtime) and hes fine until nightttime when he goes back to his cage..HTH..

These are some really great ideas. I think I will keep a care kit in my office. I work with my family so it isn't a problem. I had him here at the office with me yesterday. I supplied him with several drinks of water and a few mealies. He slept most if it, but when we got home he was so wired! I think the outting will help him bond with me more. Or atleast I like to think so

I take mine to work with me also. He doesn't wake up ever unless i wake him up when i peek in on him! Most of the time towards the end of the day i take him out for a little bit to play (and to show him off) and afterwards i throw a carrot in his pouch and leave it open while he eats so he can watch me... when he starts trying to pull in the pouch i figure he's ready to go back to bed!
