My glider gets up late. Shes not active until 1am. I give her food at 9 and wake her up but she just goes back to sleep, I get her out of her pouch and she hides behind her wheel until 1. I get her out and goes into my shirt(this is the case right now:)) I have tried giving her treats to wake her up, she takes them and hides some more. I have her in her bonding pouch for almost 4 hours every day and I have been staying up till 4 every day for the past week or so and playing with her. I cant keep this up, Its killing my home life my mom hates me and im always asleep until the afternoon and I'm about to start working..I've had her since the 4th of february and she is bonding pretty well, she was playing in the tent at around 10:30 to 12:30 but not anymore she just hides in my shirt. So I started staying up with her and we have fun she will walk out on my hand, she loves her stealth wheel. I give her crickets and other treats occasionally. I really want her to be acitive at 9 any advice???

awww. It can be hard but just keep waking her up earlier. Also, after you spend time with her say between 9 and midnight, put her back in her cage and let her be. She will come to want your attention and should start waking up earlier. Atleast that is how it has worked for me.

One thing, when you do wake her, are your lights on bright? She may think it is still day time and want to sleep. Try having the lights dimmed about 8 so she will start to wake up.

Thanks for the response:) My reptiles have a timed day night cycle and they are right next to my glider, she cant see them I put paper over the side of my snakes cage so he cant see her .. I think he wants to eat her... The lights go off at 8 and I turn on a little light so I can see but it is dim. I always see lots of pictures with the gliders in thier cages playing and its bright in the room, do gliders get more use to the light over time?

At night, when our gliders come out to play, we use red rope lights--the kind you get at Christmas. They are strung all over our bed and chest of drawers. In our glider room, we have red overhead bulbs. We keep the lights on all the time in there. The red light is dim enough for the gliders to enjoy being out, but provides enough light for us to see, too. Well, I can't read in it, but I can watch the gliders and play with them. I believe red is the only color gliders can see, altho I'm not sure about red lights. It's one reason we chose red, tho.

I have red lights also. Mine still get up around 10 or 11...but it isn't too bad. I heard as they get older they get up a little earlier. IS she still young? My youngest is the one that sleeps in the latest. But, the red works awesome.

Also, if I get Jasmine up too early she will do the same thing...even if it is dark. She will crawl and hide behind the cage. Since ther eis trim at the base of the wall&floor...the cage ddoesn't sit right next to the wall. It is a pain to chase her out. She would sleep there all night if she could. If she gets back behind there and I leave her there...she doesn't come out unitl like 1 or 2 sometimes.
