can you bond so much with your glider that you can take it outside and it will stay on your shoulder and not run away?

in time.. I would say yes... I take my gliders outside.. they will come out of my pocket to smell the air, and then go back into my pocket.. I trust my gliders, but, it took a while to get this trust..

I have a couple of bra babies that I will take outside with me but I am very careful they do not leave my shirt. I am afraid something would startle them and they MIGHT run up one of our 40 foot trees and I would not be able to get them back. I won't risk it. When ever I go anywhere with my gliders they are in a secured bonding pouch (sissy pouch) or in a travel cage.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Andi goes with us to picnics and visits the folks there, but never tries to run off. She's our only glider that we trust outside (and outside of a pouch).

Like everyone else here has said, the answer is yes. Dante will sometimes attempt to jump onto something (if he summons up the will to dare to) but will quickly jump back onto me, just to make sure he tags along incase I go some place even more interesting. This ofcourse happens more in the late afternoon to evening hours when I take my glider out. This behaviour is even common during bathroom playtime. My Dante rarely ever comes out in daylight, for some reason. He would rather crawl around under my shirt and tickle the guts outta me than jump around in the open light.

Anyway it's important to keep a close watch on the glider if it does come out. It's so easy for a glider to scurry up a tree or house and disappear forever! Man, that would be horrible...
