hey everyone!

well Norman and Lilo and Stitch's cages have been about 3 inches apart for about 2 weeks now and everyone seems to be interested in the other...Norman is going to be neutered soon, then when he is all better i wanted to move him in with the girls...

WELL the other night i purposely put there BML and fruit bowls next to each other in there cages, this didnt go over well with Norman. Norman's history suggests not having enough food and/or being teased with food, and never having the right food. (fed dry cat food) He was MAD trying his hardest to "guard" his food. it just broke my heart! needless to say i put the bowls back the way they usually are. This concerns me for being able to have Norman go in with the girls.

Even with them pretty much ignoring his freak out and happily munching on there fruit (that BML stuff is just not what they want!!) I know Norman hides food and often will have food in both hands trying to eat quickly. i started giving him little bits of food then adding a little more and a little more. this seemed to help but not when it comes to the girls.

has anyone had this problem?? i worry he'll get lonely...he will only come out and play with me, only let me carry him in his pouch (bit my boyfriend threw his little window in the pouch oops!) I have NO problem being his Buddy trust me but i worry about my little guy!

Yes it should pass after the neutering. In his eyes it is his cage and his food bowls so he is protecting it. After the neutering he should settle down, things may be fine while cages are apart. You also need to introduce them in a neutral place when the time comes to make sure he will be ok with them.

When you move him try placing several different food dishes through out the cage. Try to keep as much space as possible between them. Then slowly remove the excess dishes. This may make him feel more comfortable when first placed in there and over time will allow him to see there will always be enough food. It's so sad that animals have to feel that way.
