#41808 - 03/31/05 03:46 PM heavy sleeper?

One of my gliders is a particularly heavy sleeper, sleep I can actually take her out of the pouch hold her in one of my hands, put her on the other hand, give her to my boyfriend to hold for a second, then put her back in the pouch without her even waking up.

My other glider, though...as soon as I open the pouch she literally jumps on my hand and starts climbing all over me.

Are both of these normal glider behavior?

Yep, both of these are normal behaviors!! The sound sleepers can be very scary if you are not expecting it or knowing they can sleep so hard!

Yep, I was so scared - I thought Monster was dead one day! She was so sound asleep! She was like a little rag doll! I was about to start bawling and she woke up & looked at me like,"What?"

Zach was in my top and did that to me one day. So out cold it wasn't even funny. I prodded at him, jiggled him and poked him, finally he woke and looked at me like "What?!"

The first day we had ours, literally taking them home from the breeder, my wife tripped while she had the pouch on. We thought she hadn't hit it on anything, but we stopped to be sure and they were both very still and one of them had its eyes open.

She started [censored] out and bawling, she thought she'd killed him not an hour after we got them.

So I gingerly took the little "body" out of the pouch to see if there was anything I could do, and was just stroking his back and being sad ... then he blinks, rolls over and licks my finger a few times and closes his eyes and goes back to sleep.

The other one stuck her head out of the pouch a minute later. They've done that a few times since then. Especially our little boy, who you can pretty much do whatever you want to when he's asleep. Sometimes, when he's in a new place and nervous, he'll sleep with his eyes open. It's very weird.

My little Lelo is a heavy sleeper. She scared me the first time. Now I just have fun with it. I like to play with her little toes to wake her up.
