I am posting this to show others the size of a joey at birth. Last night our female gave birth(first time). She was on the bottom of the cage making some noises and I went over. She stood up and showed me the joey upside down sticking to the fur. The joey was to the left of the pouch a little bit. Moma was licking the joey and it fell off. I had picked it up and placed by moma's pouch, and after several tries she gave up and ate it. There was atleast one little bump in th pouch we could see, so hopefully there will be a joey. I will post two pics I had gotten

Ohhhhh, sooo tiny!!! Wow! I never realized how small newborn joeys were.

Sorry about this wee one. On the bright side, the one in mama's pouch will be a healthy and strong one. Cherish this one.

Thank you for posting the pictures.

Thank you. I believe eveything has a reason, and as always mom knows best lol. I never wanted to intervien, but she looked so horried when the baby drop so I figured I would give it a chance. I knew it wouldn't take, but was worth a try since the joey was still moving and rooting. Figured I would share since any pic I have seen has not had something to measure up against as a finger nail.

So sorry that happened Hopefully one has made it in there...nature always works out something for the better in the end. I'm sure she will have a beautiful, healthy joey soon!
