Honestly, I have always questioned this. Just like I have always questioned the veggie and fruit relishes.

Not that it isnt safe to use, obviously it is...however...if you take one tablespoon of bee pollen granules and you grind it down to powder form, would it still be one tablespoon of bee pollen, or would it be less as it would take up less space?

Same with the fruit and veggie relishes. If you take a tablespoon of pieces of veggies and made it mushy, would it still equal one tablespoon?

Not that it is a problem with it, but we need to make sure the powder form is the same amount as it would be if it were granules. Other wise, IF it IS less and you are measuring out one tablespoon of powder, you may be adding too much pollen to the mix, which is not advised to do.

Sorry, dont mean to make things complicated. Just thinking out loud.

Ok I have a question along the same lines...

Is 1 1/2 teaspoons of fresh unfrozen HPW the same as 1 1/2 frozen HPW?

Ok, let's think about this one mathematically. If we weigh 2 tablespoons of bee pollen granules and let's say it weighs 2 ounces. Then we ground it up (the same two tablespoons) and weigh it again - it should still be 2 ounces. The form of the matter does not change the "quantity" of the matter ...

Does this make sense?

What we should really be asking ourselves is what does the ORIGINAL recipe calls for (granules or powder). Then it will make a difference.

Paula, yes, the WEIGHT will be the same, so do this...take one tablespoon of granules, and one tablespoon of powder and weigh it. Im sure it will be different.

One tablespoon of granules takes up more room then powder would. So you are talking mass not math. See?

I believe you get the same with frozen, kind of like an ice cube ya know...

OK, back, and here's the results..

1 Tablespoon granules: 10 grams
1 Tablespoon powder: 10 1/2 grams

that same 1 Tablespoon granules crushed into powder: 10 1/4 grams and also just 1 tablespoon
