#57887 - 09/11/05 11:33 PM Help . . . dangerous hamster wheel?

I finally caught Suki while she was running around on her wheel in the cage. It looked really funny but kind of concerned me that she'll run for a few secs, then let it whip her around. Then a few times she would run and then kind of fall/jump out with the wheel propelling her. She didn't fall but landed on the perch next to it. It was really cute but I was wondering if she could hurt herself doing that? Is she doing it on purpose or by accident? Does anyone else's gliders do that? It's a silent spinner, btw.

Yup, they love to let it fling them across the cage. She'll be okay. Enjoy the show!

Yup! Pan does that all the time. He runs and runs, getting it going really fast, and if I'm close to the cage, he leaps out and on the cage right in front of my face! If I laugh at him he'll go back and do it again, and again, and again.......lol
If I watch and he doesn't know I'm watching, he'll get it going and then just stop and hold on for the ride! It's so funny to watch him going around in it doing loopdy-loops!

Roxy does this too, except she did land on my face and scared the heck out of me . I opened the door to get her fresh water while she was on her wheel, and WHACK right in my face, lol

That's hilarious! I hope your face is okay. I'm sure those nails hurt!! I'm still waiting for my first face hug.
