Okay, I know the cage cannot be galvanized wire and all that...but what about the cage tray?? I'm planning on having a floor and putting the cage tray as a slide out from underneath... is galvanized okay for that? Or should I just not take the chance??

Providing that the gliders are not able to reach it then that is just fine. The danger of galvanized is how the zink reacts to urine when gliders try to mark the cage. Since they won't be able to reach the tray, galvanized will be fine.

That's what I use, and I line it with puppy pads for easier cleaning. :o) Works well.

Thanks! :o) I just didn't want to hurt the babies...

Puppy pads sounds like a fantastic idea!! Does anyone else use any other kind of liners?? What can I use to help with odor?

Aspen helps with my females. For some reason, Hazel is a stinky little girl. LOL I still love her to death though.

Honestly, puppy pads if shaken out everyday traps in the odor really well. Others use fleece and line it, shake it out daily and throw it in the wash. I know some who use cage liners specifically meant for these kind of cages and have heard great things about them. There is a thread about it on this forum as well... Just do a search.

CareFresh is okay... I can never see the poop though and that is why I like the puppy pads so I can monitor stool daily.

No corn cob bedding.:o)

I line the tray with newspaper and put Carefresh on top of the newspaper. It makes for easier clean up. Just roll up the newspaper and carefresh is gone! Then I just hit the tray with the hose, wipe it down and start all over again.

Christine, that is what I do also. I may have to try the puppy pads though.

We also have a snake and I do the same thing with his cage...newspaper then bedding. It makes clean up so much easier than having to scoop out the bedding by itself. Between the kids and the animals (and school & my job!)anything I can do that saves time is a bonus!

ok, now I was interested in using the puppy pads...but most of them are treated to attract the puppy to the pad....says it's some sort of pheremone. Is this dangerous to the gliders???

Anyone wanna sell me a dura tray??? lol....these places shipping is ouright evil for a 24x30 tray!!!!!!
