How many sugar gliders do ya'll have in one cage? Here is the dilemma... I have 3 gliders in a 5ft tall, 3 ft wide and 2.5 ft. deep cage... Pic is in the attachment.
Well, since I have made the cage, I have aquired 2 joeys that are now 4 weeks old and still being hand-raised. Is 5 too many for that cage? Of course I am going to wait a LONG time to put them in there. I was just curious.
I was thinking about getting the 250 gallong Reptarium. I think that's the correct size. It might be a tad bit bigger. Any suggestions?

[:"green"]I think 5 gliders in a cage that big would be fine. Hopefully someone with a colony will come along and let you know their opinion soon.
That cage looks like it's galvanized metal. Now, if cleaned properly on a DAILY basis, galvanized metal is generally safe, but some times, gliders can get UTI's from galvanized metal... I say, if you have the money, get the reptarium. bigger is always better and that way, you won't have to worry about the risk of UTI's.

I would think the size would be about right, just consider what Leyna posted about the galvanized metal.
Yes, I know it's galvanized metal... Somehow I knew someone was going to mention that...
I clean it daily with Natures Miracle and dilluted vinegar/water and scrub it down so there is no stink. It does not rust and have had Blaze in there for several months now without any problems. I know there are a lot of people out there who will bash this post, but please be nice.
I built this cage before I knew that galvanized metal was bad. Maybe for Xmas I'll ask my parents to buy me the Reptarium. For back up, I have 3 cages (glider safe) to put them in in the case something happens.
I just worry that my Star will chew and chew and chew the Reptarium and my 2 joeys are too young to tell what the heck they'll do. LOL I'd hate to have this cage go to waste since I spent roughly $100.00 building it.
