Something is wrong with one of my gliders. It is really lethargic and keeps pushing its head into the bottom of the cage, pouch or whatever,, I took her out and gave her some honey, nutrical, Lots of water, Fruit, She keeps almost falling asleep wherever she is but then gets a burst of energy and bolts..(NOT A NORMAL RUNAWAY THOUGH) she isn't off balance really, but she is so sad!! please someone..I called like three vets and the emergency numbers and said I should just keep doing what I am doing or else they aren't in until early tomarrow morning..PLEASE SOMEONE give me some advice because I am [censored] out!

She might be dehyradted. Get some Pedialyte into her so she can hydrate. I THINK its the early stages of HLP, But im not too sure. Is she pale on her paws and nose? She could also be hypoglymic. Try offering her some syrup. Thats what my vet told me to do when Moose was hypoglcemic. Keep her hydrated and keep calling the vet. Hope she pulls through ok!

I would get your glider to a vet tonight. Do you have any Emergency vet's? I would call them and see if they will see you NOW.

Is your glider dehydrated? Do you know how to tell? If not pull the skin up between the shoulder blades and it should fall right back down. If it stays tented then she needs some fluids from the vet. Also you could ask them to do a fecal check. They can do that on any animal.

What diet do you have her on and has she been eating it?

I really would find an ER vet tonight.

Please keep us posted.

Trixi was acting like that shortly after I resucued her. The vet I want to said that she was slightly dehydrated and also had a calcium defficiantcy I think. Anywho, she cured it with a shot and something called Neo-Calcalglucon syrup by mouth. I hope that helps!

I took her to the emergency vet...She was suffering soo bad and they said she kept getting worse and that they didn't know what else they could do but keep her overnight and that she looked like she wouldn't make it. They said it was something with her lungs. She couldn't breathe well, her heart rate was wayyyyyyy low. We waited while they gave her fluids and oxygen but she passed away.... I don't understand. ..my other glider is sooo sad..(I swear she knew she was sick..because she just layed by her outside of the pouch..I just don't even know what i should do..Thanks for all your help and sorry it took me a while to get back...I really appreciate your concerns.
May she rest over the rainbow bridge.

Lisa, I am sooo sorry about your little girl. May she rest in pease.

Since your diet was BML ....HLP should not have been an issue. Did your little girl have the sniffles by chance, runny eyes or nose? Any diarreah?

You probably should have your remaining glider vet checked for wellness to be sure she is ok.
