I'm new to the site but I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to post real stories. I've had a financial setback the last couple of months which meant cutting costs all the way around w/ my family and the care of our pets. I've had my sugargliders for about a year and a half. We started out w/ two and increased to four. Their diet hadn't really changed much and we took for granted that they could adjust to the streamlinig of the basics in food. I did notice a couple of months ago their odor was getting worse. I contributed it to the male glands and that now the younger two were getting bigger. We lost the youngest one yesterday and realized momma had twins. All of them are dehydrating. Evidenced by their skin not snapping back. Theirs no money for vet and the ones we usually use for our dogs can't help, aren't familiar w/ gliders. I got on this site and started immediate feeding w/ ensure, pedialyte and some apple juice. It's still touch and go but they are all improving. Papa is weighing 150g, momma 100g, and the younger one 75g. The smell has gotten alot better. I'm a little concerned about momma. She still seems lethargic and can't climb and isn't really feeding the twins. I'm not sure how old the twins are. They're pink w/ the black strip down the back. No hair yet. I do have them w/ papa so he can help out w/ them. By faith I'm doing what I know to strengthen them. They're being kept warm w/ a heating pad which they seem to like. Stools look solid and are regular. I just hope I haven't caused any permanent damage to them. Thanks again to God and you all for all your help through your postings. And for the one who lost hers yesterday I'm praying for you. I really got scared and still am.

Babies with no hair (slick and colored pink)... more than likely will not survive without being fed by their mother and will slowly starve. : My suggestion is to leave the little ones with their mother for comfort....even though she is not going to survive without vet care and let Mother Nature have her way. At this point... just try to keep all warm and hydrated. This is a very sad day for all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crying.gif" alt="" />
