Out of Pouch

Does anyone know how a glider acts if she is pregnant?
My petal lies on her back and cuddles her wodent wheel.
she is not eating her normal amount of food. She is playing.
Last night she did not go into her sleeping pouch. But as I
am sitting here now she is in her carry puch so that we can bond and she is sleeping. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Thank you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />

she is constantly preening herself. Her bowel movements
have me worried. They have gone from brownish black to white
now to gray. when we bought her out tonight to play she ate while she was in her wheel,it took her about half an hour to finally come out. She is just not herself. Yes it seems that she is cleaning her pouch. But I can't be sure she is my first glider. If you think of anything else let me know. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> If you want to reach me email me at []triladi@gmail.com[/]

I don't think that's normal I think you should get her to a vet ASAP too!

Any change in behavior warrants a vet visit - and the poop you describe is NOT normal. Take her to an experienced glider vet & have a wellness check + fecal float/smear, UA, C&S done - AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Gliders hide their illnesses as a defense mechanism, so if she's already showing symptoms, she is likely much sicker than she looks. Please keep us posted & let us know what the vet says!

I agree wholeheartedly with Monster. This girl sounds sick to me. It may be that she has joey(s) in pouch, but I wouldn't write all the changes in her behaviour off to just being prg. I'm glad she's still eating and playing, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's okay. I've known gliders whose only change in behaviour was that they switched sleeping pouches or were awake during the day when they normally never got up during the day (being awake in the day isn't necessarily a sign of illness, it's the change that is the sign) and when taken in, it was discovered that they had a UI.

Gliders are so good at hiding illness that by the time you can tell they are acting differently, they are probably VERY sick. Please take her to a glider knowledgible vet ASAP.

By the way, what diet is she on? The poops sound wrong to me too.
