Sorry, not sure where to post this and sorry for those of you that have already read this elsewhere..I'm trying to cover all the sites...

I literally JUST got an email from Steve Larkin, aka Custom Cage Works aka Pocket Pets of Dallas saying they have a new name:

"Tropical Attitude Pets (formerly Pocket Pets of Dallas)
Kansas City Boat & Sportshow at Bartle Hall Jan 7-11, 2009"

It says they are changing names because it seems other companies are following his business plan selling at home shows and he doesn't want to be confused with them because they have a VERY similar name to Pocket Pets of Dallas.

But wait ... that implies he is saying Perfect Pocket Pets is copying him?

But ... haven't they been around an equal amount of time? And wasn't (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets named that WAY BEFORE CCW changed their name to Pocket Pets of Dallas??

I personally prefer the name "Animal Abusers" or "We Will Lie to You to Get Your Money" or "Life Means Nothing to Us".

Maybe they had a falling out? They claimed to be friends. But yes, I also thought (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets had their name before CCW changed theirs. It's all stupid.

I was under the impression they were one in the same/partners. My understanding is (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets gets their gliders FROM CCW or they did.

It's just a ploy so when and if they're approached at an event by someone saying...'Are you affiliated with (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets, I heard they are bad'....then he can say no to confuse them!
He's trying to dodge his bad reputation!

I totally agree with you.

I don't think they were one in the same although that doesn't mean one didn't purchase from the other. To me, they are definitely incinuating that (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets is "copying" them.

A group of us went to a festival where we knew (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets was going to be so we could hand out literature on mill breeders, and while some were doing that, me and my sister were up there talking to the guy. I figured if he was busy with us, he couldn't sell any gliders to others. smile

During our conversation, he mentioned his "good buddy" Steve Larkin. He never said anything about business connections though..

I hope all of their nose hairs grow long and get tangled in their forks no matter what name they change it to. I think the reason they change it is just like it was said above. To run from the bad rep.

steve larkin has been working for a long time building brokers throughout the united states, that all have carried the "Perfect Pocket Pets" name to separate them from him

he is not Perfect Pocket Pets, they all broker for him, he is not a dummy and a shrewd business man, he knew what he was doing with the separation of the name, but things will not change

ccw changed to Pocket Pets, his gliders have not changed he is still a mill breeder who supplies the brokers at home shows now with his new name change he still will be distributing the same gliders to the same people

i brought my baby home on dec 21st and he was sick with watery stool and appeared to be lifting his back leg a bit. i didnt know what to make of it because he was new and so am i to all of this. turns out he has parasites and a broken leg..UUggh. the vet had to remove a piece of his bone and it turns out that the broken bones had fused themselves back together ...thats how we knew it was a preexisting break. those (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets people need to close up shop and never so much as look at another living thing again. they sold these poor little ones to people for pets for their children..they are extremly fragile little things. they sold them to people like myself who knew nothing about them except what they told me. they said we shouldnt go to any other website but (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets because people will tell us to do things for our gliders that are not healthy and could actually kill the babies. i was stupid and nieve. thanks to this website i have better knowledge and am able to to the correct things for my baby. i wish i could get all the people together that bought from the mall and do something to stop (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets from ever selling again.

Go to the Mall management office and file a formal complaint. Take your vet records and receipts for proof of purchase and for what happened to your Glider. If that does not help then tell everyone which Mall and never go there again. Let the management know what your gonna do. It may help.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME INFORMATION THEY GIVE OUT AT THEIR SHOWS!
But look at what their website says on their Tips Before Purchasing a Sugar Glider:(cut & pasted from their site):

"Tips Before Purchasing a Sugar Glider
Before making a purchase of a Sugar Glider, always perform research on its nutritional requirements. For instance, there are some Sugar Gliders that require extra dietary calcium to maintain optimum health. Also, keep in mind that Sugar Gliders are nocturnal animals, which means they remain active mostly at night. While Sugar Gliders themselves do not make an inordinate level of noise when compared to other traditional household pets, they are capable of making several sounds, including a barking sound (similar to a Chihuahua), and a chattering sound (called crabbing) that is similar to a locust. However, in most cases the only times a Glider will make these noises for any sustained period of time are when they are either sick, mistreated, or distressed".

If this info was on their handouts at their gatherings, people would research first & they could not sell any at all. Smart Scammers!!
And as far as their sounds of barking, chattering & crabbing, according to (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets, all of our gliders have been
"either sick, mistreated, or distressed", for the past 7 years! What idiots!

Can't I be addicted to this forum AND my gliders? I can sit here, with gliders down my shirt, and type my posts, can't I? It isn't either/or!

And I can even take my laptop into tent time with me!

Yeah I'm looking at his business card. It's Virgil Klunder out of Cape Coral Florida. I know he own's (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets & has many regional brokers under him all over the country. I know (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets has supplied CCW with joeys to sell. But the cage set up my parents got me at a flower & patio show, the guy built the cage right in front of them, but on the bottom of the metal slide out tray is a little sticker that say Custom Cage work with their website.

interesting reads.... Virgil Klunder a self made man taking on someone like him is like taking on bill gates, he has the money to keep everyone tied up till they run out of money.

doing a simple search on google will give you a very good idea as to what I am talking about.

as big of a jerk as he is in the glider world, he actually has a great side to him, now with that being said. there has to be a way to get to the soft spot.. but then again... who knows maybe his whole life is about money and the good he does do, doesn't really reflect on his personal character.

I don't want to take away the good he does do because in itself it is very impacting.

He is an entrepreneur, he works hard at it, and is great at being a superior conman in the glider world but a very very shrewd businessman throughout. you would be surprised at all that he is into.

I found this however to be very very interesting...
look at who teaches here and where it is located

now if someone wants to do damage obviously going after virgil is not going to make a dent in him one way shape or form, so now who has the list of

"mega breeders" not mill breeders, but the megabreeders, the ones that can produce enough joeys to supply (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets..

BY the way (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets doesn't breed joeys, they are only brokers.

but to think about how many joeys are sold on a weekly basis all over the united states by (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets, there has to be several breeders suppling them.
