Well, as far as we know, playing with our glider is letting him run all over us, and wiggling our hand around in front of him. Any games you guys like to play with your gliders out there that they really like? Just wondering what kind of interaction these guys like and what games we can play with him to keep him more interested in us than running around our room like a lunatic during playtime.

I taught Badger to "play glider" lol He has his own chair that I put a couple of normal adult size fleece blankets on folded in half. I stand about 3 feet or so from there with my shoulder turned and kinda rock back and forth..we count..1, 2, 3 (he starts swaying too)..GO! He jumps (glides) to his chair and waits on me to walk over and say "come here to mommy"..then he jumps right back to me and we do this over and over..lol

He also likes to play Peek a Boo sometimes. Either he will go in the big blanket on his chair or when he's down my shirt..I'll open it and say peek a boo...he ducks. He'll do that and finally he'll poke HIS head out and when I look at him...he jumps back down. hehe

He does a few other things. You have to do the same over and over and over for them to learn..it's fun and rewarding! For instance, when you have little man on your shoulder...when he comes around towards your face..turn slowly and say peek a boo..watch him run back around..keep it up and he'll learn to play! i knew gliders could play tug of war ours used to but they dont play anymore not since the hurrican hit anyway i didn't know they could learn peek a boo

ours play with each other, climbing on us.. or jump back adn forth between us... one of us holds hands out as a perch and the other holds a piece of fleece up... then they'll go down and across the floor and back up to jump again. also- offering teasers is fun- feathers and they will attack them... or just mom to cage and backa dn forth time.

Gizzy is more of a jumper too, but he will do things like finger wrestle with me or launch sneak attacks on Zack when he's laying on the couch....my favorite trick tho is he comes to me on command....he'll be running around and I'll hold my arm out and say "Come see me!" and literally everytime he jumps to me....this means sometimes 20-30 times a night I do this with him

Morgan likes to climb to the top of the door frame and when we stretch out our arm he glides down. He does it over and over again.

Ike likes to go for walks. Every time he sees me going for their bedroom door he jumps on my leg and crawls up to my shoulder. I can fold laundry, wash dishes, sweep the floor or do just about anything with him on my shoulder watching. He's very curious.

They like to chase balloons, remote controlled cars, super balls as well as the feather teaser. They love bubbles but I'm afraid the soap may get in their eyes so we don't do bubbles too often.

Faye likes to go to the top of the reptarium (where i put feathers, balls (without noisemakers btw), and whatever else i can find.

She goes to the top though, waits for me to stand away from the cage, then starts the jumping game. She jumps to me, runs around a bit, until i walk back to the cage. Then, she hops back to the top and does it all over again.

basically you can tell when they enjoy something by it's repetition. if you can repeat the interaction responses/activities - they like it or "get" it.

i do not play any games that involve any sort of intimidation or "teasing" with my hands. If they are to chase anything - it's a feather appropriately attatched to a stick etc. Loose feathers, i don't touch (they asolutely love them though).

There isn't much organization to it in my opinion. It's just being with them and available during their play time, and paying attention to responses you get - aka, letting them manipulate you into activities they enjoy. That's playing to me!

I can't get mine to play. If my husband finally gets her out of the cage(after 30 mins of running and jumping away), all she does is run around the apartment away from us. If she happens to climb on us she will jump from hand to hand. But usually she keeps her distance. I'm making very little slow progress on her, but I think thats because the breeder I got her from wasn't very good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> She doesn't crab at me as much and she will jump on my hand if she's out of the cage so I can put her up. I guess that's better then my husbands progress since she refuses to do anything he wants. I suppose she like his head since he reaches the highest point in our apartment. O.o'

My glider kinda entertains herself, she fell inlove with this 2 1/2 foot dinasour i have in my room...I think she bonded it it before me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />( She goes flintstones on it by rolling down its tale, its really cute.....AH! i have to go and play with her now
