Are feather boas OK to be in their cage or just for play time?

I don't keep mine in their cage, because the feathers are dyed they could get sick if they eat them. Tent time is all I use them for. Mine love tunneling down into them

I have a few of them strung up in our tent they love to run along them and attack the feathers...I got one that was white so there was no dye in it but still only let them play with it when supervised! Have a blast they love em!
