I have fed it in the past. Many years ago. That was before I knew about GC. I love Strawberries and rubarb. I recall that Suggie never really ate much.

At the present since it is on the toxic food list I have not feed it to my gliders. I don't want to take a chance.

I found this site;
http://www.rhubarbinfo.com/rhubarb-poison.html

I don't remember it now, but it seemed like there was something in the plant that was of toxic concern other than the oxalic acid, because eucalyptus and acacia species that they chew on sometimes have a high oxalic acid content as well, if I remember correctly. I'll see if I can find it in the Diet101 forum. dunno

Seems it is about the oxalates (it has one of the higher levels). Here are some threads discussing it;
http://www.glidercentral.net/ubbthreads/...oxic#Post110503
http://www.glidercentral.net/ubbthreads/...ubarb#Post18580

When looking other places, the concern appears to mostly come from the leaves (which most people wouldn't feed anyway) I believe the stalk has fewer oxalates. But, if you read about people that have fed it to gliders, most don't eat it anyway. dunno
