Romeo OOP 2-13-01 / died 6-20-03

Our hearts are breaking as Romeo has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge about 2:45pm today. I'd seen he was having problems yesterday, he had suddenly gone into liver failure and became extremely dehydrated. We got him into the emergency vet clinic, (sorry all, I have to vent a bit here)
PLEASE!!! Urge all the vets in your area to at least keep info on sugargliders on hand! I'm not saying that it would have saved 'Meo, but it really helps when they have a little info at hand, if not in head.
I gave him sub-q fluids through the night, started all the gliders on abx. and nursed him through the night. I took him back to another vet this afternoon, and as we pulled into the parking lot he started patting and licking me.
I ran into the vet's office with him and when I pulled him out for her to see him, he was already gone.
We will miss you greatly Romeo, til we see you on the other side of the bridge,
Tammy,
Ashley,
Gintei ,
Pika

I am truly sorry... Tammy and girls. I have seen how much you adore your glider's and Romeo knows how much you loved him, never forget that. May you all meet happily again someday.

Thanks so much... Gintei keeps looking for him and is wearing herself to a frazzel. Pika is the Alpha female and hasn't really seemed to notice that much. but I seem to have to hold Gintei as much as I can or she's tearing her house apart looking for Romeo.

Tammy and Ashley, I am so sorry. I know what a big part of your life your gliders are, and I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in the memories you have of Romeo.

I feel SOOO bad! I had to move the girls cage back to it's original spot & didn't even think about it having Romeo's scent all over it... Poor Gintei was racing around in circles, with big tears in her eyes, looking for him. She'd stop every once in a while & look at me like "Where'd he go?" Pika looks so confused too.
Sniff, sniff...
I did get smart enough to scrub down all the walls & tear down the paper I had up, but I suppose it still smelled like 'Meo.
