#75705 - 01/02/06 10:47 AM Ideas need for a glider room.. please help

I have been using a tent with my babies for a while, but this weekend figured out that I have room for a glider room. My upstairs bathroom is made out of two rooms, one with the sinks and toliet, the other with the shower and tub. We have never used the shower room except as a holding place to store things to go to Goodwill. Other than plugging up the shower drain, I thought I could turn this room into a fun playroom by putting blankets on the floor, etc, but I need ideas!!!

Please post your pics of your glider playrooms or any ideas you have to convert this room.

oooh fun! And dont forget to stuff the cracks under the doors. I have a bathroom like this as well, I swear I thought I was the ONLY ONE! lol. except i actually use it for showering, lol. but...if your shower curtain rod is sturdy enough I'd get rid of the curtain if its up..and hang toys from it, maybe some ladders, or long pieces of fleece so they can climb up it. baby chain link toys, or even shower curtain rings hooked together. good luck and post pics when youre all done!

we hung pieces of fleece from the curtain rod when we played in the bathroom.. and from the towel rods! and we had all kinds of toys.. they loved some of the high spots.. and we had things under the doors, but now they have their own room and the doors are close enough to the floor we don't worry about that...

I have a whole room set up as a playground. For permanent door safety, I put very harp plastic stripps (doubled on each side of the door) attached to the bootms of the door on the inside and the outside. It makes the door a bit difficult to drag open and shut, but is very effective in cotaining the gliders to the one room when they're out playing.

I also strung ropes horizontally accross the cieling in a "spiderweb" sort of arangement and used closed round hooks so that there aren't any sharp ends sticking out. I hung toys, ropes, ladders, plastic chains (homeDepot), swings, and other assorted silliness from these ropes.
I have bunches of stuffed animals all over the floor.
The computer has cord covers on every cord, and there's one low watt lamp, also with cord covers.
Make sure to plug all outlets with those child-safe outlet covers.
Also, I found hanging canvass shoe cubbys that are made to hang in closets--lots of fun for exploring or resting.

Depends on how wild you want your bathroom to look full time.
Sine I set up this room, guests decide to stay in the living room!

Hope that helps.

I suggest that you take some very heavy weight plastic and tape it over the toilet bowl. Drowning in toilets is a very real hazzard. These little stinkers CAN fit between the bowl and the seat.
Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

How difficult is it to keep a glider play room clean that's not a bathroom? How often do you shampoo the rugs?

We have no carpetting in our house- wood floors.. I just steam the floors every few times I cage clean... and vaccuum them well in between.

we have all kinds of toys and a shelving maze in the room along with the cages and various things to climb around on.
