I was wondering what makes up the inbreeding percentages I see on a lot of leus? In almost every lineage that I've seen there is some relation to another family member somehwere down the line. I'm aware that there were only three lines to begin with. I've seen some with o% but yet I can see there is a relation in the lineage atleast twice. Also, if there is inbreeding in a lineage, is is still considered inbreeding if it is 5 generations ago?

No, breeding 5 generations apart is not considered inbreeding. There is a chart somewhere that shows the levels of the generations and what is considered inbreeding and not. I believe that third cousins are on the level of 5th generation and breeding between third cousins is not considered inbreeding. I don't think that second cousins are considered inbreeding either. Don't quote me on this, but I am sure someone will come along who has a link to the chart.

Second cousins is not inbreeding. But depending on who you are talking to... some will say to breed out another generation.

here's a link to that chart. this should help you greatly!! just plug and play. put the suggies in the chart where they belong and you can see whether or not inbreeding is a factor!!

So...if the closest relationship is a 2nd cousin 1x removed and 1st cousin 2x removed (2 closest relatives related) is this ok, or is it best to breed out once before you breed back in? Am I making since?

What you should do is put the two gliders you plan to pair up into the chart and determine their relationship. If it's in the "safe zone" then you are good to go. Next, take their offspring and it's potential mate and put them into the chart and see what you get, and so on.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend going back and forth between generations and re-introducing a distant offspring back into the same line. It would be recommended to continue to breed out the line. JMO, hope it helps.

I guess what I'm not understanding is with only three lines of leus, aren't you bound to breed back into a line no matter how much you breed out?

They are getting nearer to the point where you can breed non-related leus to leu hets. That should be the goal. It is difficult to find, but not impossible.
