#81936 - 02/06/06 11:22 AM Is this bump normal???

I had my little boy neutered last week.last night when we were playing I noticed a red bump on him I was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal or should I be worried about it? I dont know what it is

2nd pic. He was xetremely crabby last night and did not want me to touch him or anything. I dont think he was in pain cause when I touched it he didnt flinch or anything. He is a very crabby boy most of the time

I agree with cyndie. Were you talking about the pink "bump" closest to his tail (that's his cloaca) or the furry one to the right in the first pic (that's where the vet left his pom pom)?

The website I mentioned to you in PM is at That's a great one to look at when you're wondering if something "looks normal".

I didnt know that scent gland is called a pom pom I always thought they were talking about his testes. I remember looking at bmxgirls site but I only remember seeing what the boys penis looks like. Is his penis the same area as his cloacal? I have never seen him "let it all hang out" should he have done this yet? He is about 8 months old?
The link to her site isnt wrking but I remember I made a note and link in my suggie info page. I will get ion there and look a little deeper and see what info I can find. Thank you for your time.

His scent gland is not called a pom pom, you are correct in thinking the pom is his testes.

Here is the link to the anatomy page on BMX's site, it is working, just checked it out for ya.

Yes his penis does come out of the cloaca and some arent as *flossy* as others. HTH

If you want to know what a person is like, watch how he treats others.

You'll never know what the outcome is if you don't step up and try.

I had checked her website a minute ago too and it was fine, but when i looked again, it was down. Must be an intermittant problem.

sweetnat, he may begin to "let it hang out" more about this time, or he may not. He's probably in adolescence about now.

His scent gland is the bald spot he may or may not have yet on his head and another on his chest.
