Yesterday, while bonding with Bonnie & Clyde in the pouch, I dragged the garbage against the stone driveway and made such loud noises that Clyde jumped out of the pouch and climbed up a tree!!! I only had them for two weeks and he of course hadn't bonded with me.. he stayed up the tree for 5 hours!!! I did't know what to do.. so I bought the cage out with Bonnie put inside. They were attracting so many flies!! and so smelly!! I saw bonnie catching flies and eating them! Clyde just climbed higher and higher as I tried to get him.. and finally he rested on the branch.. hours later it finally go dark.. and Clyde would hide from the flashflight I had focused on him.. I was thinking, I might lose him for ever!!! he woke up at 10pm and ran up and down the tree trunk. he got on to the cage but would not go in.. and this was all happening on my neighbors yard not my own yard!! i was outside getting bit so bad by the bugs!! Finally, my brilliant idea worked, I had his pouch hanging by a branch. He got in!! I was ectstatic and went back to get a ladder, but sometimes before that he jumped out.. I thought oh great, looks like it is going tobe a long night.. It could not have been that easy!!
Then half an hour later, he got into the pouch again, only this time I knew to put food in it.. so I climbed up the ladder gingerly and closed the top.. he was crabbing and annoyed but Thank God he is home now!! I'd be so devasted and upset with myself if he didn't make it!! Had anyone similar experience?? He was pretty happy on that 5 story tall oak tree that I was afraid he'd never come home.. not only that, there was a neighbors semi-stray cat keeps lurking around!! I thought I had no chance!

Wow! What a night!!! I'm so glad that he is back home, he won't be having that much fun for awhile! Kudos to you for keeping a clear mind and catching him, I know I would have freaked! Thank goodness he's home!

Great story! I'm glad that you were able to lure him back inside his pouch and that he is safe and sound again. Oh geesh! I can only imagine what panic you must have went through!

Oh..you are so brave! When Squirt got out just a few days after I got him, I panicked..and he was just loose in my room! (but, in my defence, there was a missing ceiling tile, so he could have gotten into the ceiling!)
Yay for you!!

Yes, it was a good ending.. Nothing better than a good story. I'm really glad the pouch thing worked. It was a pretty long ordeal but I'm glad that I didn't have to stay all night long outside.. I could not turn on the flash light, I could not use bug spray, meanwhile I had to shoo the neighbor's cat away, in addition to my own cat. The two of them, just stay at bottom of the tree and looking up or looking in to Bonnie's cage... meanwhile all the neighbor's kids are roaming about making noises and checking them out.. oh please, I need quiet! At one time Clyde walked on the electric wire trying to cross to the other side of the street!! I almost wanted to call the Fire Dept!
