As most of you know, Toby is my one and only glider. He is 17 weeks oop. Today while I was playing with him, i decided to look up videos of sugar gliders and their noises. He was in my shirt and as soon as I clicked on a video of a mother singing to her joey, he came out and wanted to get to my speakers! He LOVED listening to them talk. I am thinking maybe I will compose a long music file of gliders talking happily and mothers singing and play it for him to listen to so maybe he won't feel so lonely.

Is this a good idea or what?
Tell me what you think.

somebody recorded one barking last Oct. on the 16th,i think. when i was listening to it, my girls came running to their door of the cage, & just hung there, listening to it. that was really neat!!! a week or so ago, someone else did the same thing.
i think recordings of what sounds they make could also help owners who have had a baby escape, that if the glider hears the sounds, it may come out of hiding. JMO

I did the same thing last night went to a site that had a recording of a sugar glider barking and my suggie froze in her cage and wouldn't move...so I thought it was scaring her and turned the sound off!

My site has a glider barking ((giggles)) smile

My gliders all get real curious when they hear it.

Michelle, she probably froze to try to figure out where it was coming from. After all she could hear it but not see or smell it. I doubt it scared her... a glider bark is pretty friendly... kinda like a "hellloooo? Is anybody out there?"

My gliders all freeze when one is barking! It seems the barker is telling a great story and all the others can't wait to hear the punch line or end of the tale.

I wish my own children had listened to me with that kind of attention! LOL
