Sorry for all the questions about diet. I'm just concerned, considering it's so important.
I was looking at Ruth's page.. and came across this.

Modified Leadbeaters Mix
Note: Since high-protein baby cereal is no longer available in the US, I was adding a second boiled egg, and later switched to tofu instead, to raise the level of protein and calcium. But Bourbon pointed me to some articles about tofu, and after reading them I gave up on that idea.
A jar of chicken baby food is a good alternative if your gliders will eat it, but I have ended up back where I began, adding a second egg and increasing the calcium to balance the additional phosphorus it introduces.
Apple Juice 1/2 cup
Honey 1/2 cup
Boiled egg 2 (I leave the shell on)
Gerber Baby cereal (dry flakes) 1/2 cup (I will be using Heinz Fruit Muesli- Randy informed me it was pretty similar after comparison.)
Wheat Germ 1/4 cup
Rep-Cal (Calcium supplement with no phosphorus) 1 1/4 tsp
Herptivite Vitamin Supplement 1 tsp
Dump everything in a blender and puree until lump free. I pour it into an airtight plastic container and freeze it, so it won't spoil before it's all used. It freezes to about the consistency of ice cream, so it's easy to scoop out a serving of it each night.
One recipe of Leadbeater's Mix will make roughly 50 glider servings, depending on how generously you scoop it.
-----------------
Also, from what I've read, 5-7 medium sized Mealies a night.
----------------
Various fresh or frozen fruits and vegs.
----------------

This is correct, right? And can I add yogurt on occasion? She loves it, but if it's bad for her then I'll just use it as a small treat. And maybe babyfood? Could I mix up a bit of that as a protein 'blast' now and then? She thoroughly enjoys that too..

The whole British BML thing seems to have come to a bit of a standstill. I can't find the right information because I doubt it exists (nutritional information about particular foods in the UK - I dread to think). However, if all goes to plan, Ruth's Leadbeaters plan could be absolutely perfect, and a good solution to my problem.

Does anyone still use this? And if so, what're your experiences with it?
I'm off to search for some info on it now, but I'll be checking back frequently. Thanks a lot to anyone who replies.

I've used Ruth's recipe several times...and it seems to go over just as well as Bourbons recipe. I don't know how balanced the ratio's are in that recipe... maybe Bourbon has a better idea??

Me and Randy tried to work out what I could do to make BML (we've got different products and such over here, obviously, and the babyfoods are drastically different.. Thank God I don't ever want kids.) I was trying to find a nutritional chart online or ANYWHERE of British products in that department that would suit what I wanted. No luck. Have searched for two days, on and off.

Ruth's is something that I can easily do. And Ruth's Page is actually the first one I ever went to and learned about suggies at; I can't imagine why I don't remember it.

Eventually, I will go onto BML. But only when I am absolutely certain that the ingredients I have available are not going to be bad for Saffron. Sorry, but I'm not willing to risk it. I will continue to try and get it easily available over here, but until then, I think I'll be using Ruth's.

I imagine if Ruth has it freely available, it is absolutely fine. I'm asking as I could not find it on Bourbon's page, and I understand they have worked together in the past. S'the impression I got, anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone else use this? And the answers for my yogurt/babyfood questions?
(thanks for the reply, babydevilsangel)

If I can get this sorted soon, I'll be mixing up a batch tonight, so all or any opinions/experiences would be hugely appreciated. I couldn't find a huge amount about it in the Search option..

I don't know what their current relationship is; but they do share a Web site.

You might also consider contacting Ruth directly at: []ruth@skinhorse.net

Hm. That's why I imagined they'd worked together; due to the whole sharing a website. I may be wrong.

Looks like this is the only way I'm gonna get any info.
I'm off to jot down an email to her now.
Cheers for her address.

yes, we still work together..

Ruth now concentrates on the larger breeders, when it comes to the standard owners, her customers included, she recommends the BML.

the discussion regarding substituting the chicken babyfood with egg and yogurt has been discussed many times, there are big differences in many areas.

right now while shaz is working on this, the diet she is on is fine, we are all still working to get something that works. We just went through this in parts of canada, but again things are different there.

A little yogurt a couple times a week is fine for them. I only give a small spoon full for 2 gliders... and only once or twice a week.

If she loves her yogurt, you oughtta try using that for your licky treat while she is in your bra! Just a suggestion!
