#918442 - 03/12/10 05:00 PM GA Law

I'm sure this is old news by now to everyone but the state listing is outdated on the forum. Gliders have been legal in Georgia for over a year now BUT you have to have proof that they came from a USDA licensed breeder. There are many misinformed buyers in GA buying from farmer's markets now and it is sad. I have owned gliders for 8 years and it hurts me to see these new owners being misinformed and buying because it's a new and exciting pet brought to the exotic pet trade here. I've met many new owners with good intentions but they are being given wrong info to make a quick buck...not always but this is happening a lot. I used to be a petcare manager for Petsmart and would meet misinformed new owners every weekend coming from farmer's markets. I quit Petsmart because I disagreed with how they started to treat the animals in thier care when money got low and I felt ashamed to be a part of it but that is here nor there I guess.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will correct it now.

It is sad, I wished there were more people like you who care and want to take an interest in protecting these little ones.

I'd like to encourage you to register at there you will have access to handouts that you could pass out to several Pet Stores, Malls, etc..
