I would like to make a feeding station that some of you have talked about. I am tired of scrubbing BML off my walls!

Can someone show me a picture? I am not sure I understand it. I think I do...

Also, with a cage of 6 (6X6X4) would I need two to prevent squabbles?

I dont have any shelves in there, I always hang their food bowls along the cage sides. The only solid surface is on the ground. I guess I need to add shelves too, right?

Thanks, sorry for my ditzyness.

Hi Laura,
Since some gliders get a little funky about going in the kitchens I just went ahead and had a cage cover made for mine instead.
I asked on here for someone that could do it, picked out the fleece I wanted at Walmart, told the sewer what I wanted her to get and the measurements of my cage. She even made pouches and toys with the extra material. My set up looks great.
I throw it in the wash once a month.

I just use a rubbermaid storage container upside down (it is a kind of rounded square one from walmart) I cut a hole in the side of the plastic for them to get in and out of and melted the cut edges, so they were not sharp. I only have cloth ledges in my cage, so I just set the kitchen on the floor of the cage and they love it. I still use the food dishes that hang on the sides of the cage for treats, yogurt and mealies. That way no one fights, if the kitchen is busy then they go get something from the higher dish.

I did not realize how much I needed a kitchen until I used it and took it out to clean the next morning. There was food flipped everywhere inside it. haha

Ahhh, thanks tbull and Xglider!

My big cage is too big to cover, but Paula I may use that idea for the medium cage... thanks. (I like the idea of matching cover and pouches)

Just curious, how big is your cage?
Mine is 30"w x 18"d x 58"h.

Now I have three cages.... one is 6'X6'X4', (way too big to cover) the other is that tall hexagon one and the third is 60"hX30"dX28"w

You can also try using a clear plastic shower curtain behind the cage. That works great for us here.

If your gliders do not like the kitchen, I also have thin sheets of plexi-glass mounted to the wall behind my cages with mirror clips. I wipe them down once a week and take them into the shower once or twice a month. But that is mostly for my boys "Marking" the cage bars and getting the walls

The easiest glider kitchen - Wal-Mart carries Sterilite containers that have holes where you can put your hands. Put the lid on the floor of the cage, put their dish on the lid, put the bowl upside down on the lid. There is a hole on each side so it's easier for everyone to eat!

Wow I never even thought of this stuff. I am definately going to implement a glider kitchen in my new cage. Does anyone find that their gliders don't really like them?

Hi I just set up a kitchen for all my gliders and I actually found all of my stuff at WalMart today. It was where all the spring & summer colored plastic dishes are. I paid $3 for the large bowl set and the small ones were like $2 for 4 of them. I had to cut the hole in it with scissors but it looks & works great. My gliders have all eaten in there this evening & they acted like they loved it. Please email me if you have any questions. Happy Gliding

Mine is similar to Luv4suggies except I used a door knob drill to drill the holes into the bowl. I put several so they can come and go as they please. Also, these bowls can crack easily when making the hole so I'm not sure how that would do just using a knife. The cracked edges can be pretty sharp. I also found after drilling that if you use a cigarette lighter you can sort of melt down the rough edges caused by the drill bit.
You can check mine out here: http://www.pennysprettys.com/photogallery.htm

I added two holes on the sides and one on the top for ease and ventilation.
