Yes, you can attach it to the side of the cage. You will need to hold it on securely with about 6-8 zip ties, just tie it on by the stand <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />.

You can also attach it to the side of the cage by taking the stand off and using some extra large washers (one on the inside of the cage, one on the outside with the wire sandwiched between them) bolt it straight to the cage. I don't advise this if you have one of the more flimsy cages (like the ebay cages) as it can bend or break the wire.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

I wont do it thanks to dancing (not the mean kind of thanks to bla bla). I have one of the ebay cages that bend alot but i zip tied it down to the bottom and it is now NOISE FREE! AT first it would make alot of noise because i didnt zip tie it down and it moved and moved the bottom of the cage i would find the wheel on the other side of where i put it! lol
