You can use pre chopped fruit. Just make sure that it is not in any syrup or have preservatives added. Just by the fresh chopped fruit

Actually, I used to use the pre-cut fruit all the time, but then my gliders got sick with some kind of mysterious stomach virus or parasite. It was pointed out to me that most of the fruit we get comes from South America and could easily be contaminated with giardia and other nasties. Think about it. If you vacation in Mexico, do you drink the water?
So then the question becomes, do you want to trust the produce guy at Walmart to wash your fruit properly before they cut it up? Just something to think about.
Since then, I've bought the whole fruit and washed it well and cut it up myself and frozen it after cutting up. Then I just have to do it every month or so and it's easy to break off a few frozen pieces of honeydew, persimmon or whatever if you freeze it in a single layer in a Ziplock. HTH
I do, however buy the frozen veggies. My gliders LOVE the crinkle cut carrots. It's so weird but they only eat the crinkle cut kind.

I certainly won't be using any pre chopped fruit Thank you for that that Peeper.

PeeperKeeper- do you ever notice if your gliders only eat the centers of the crinkle-cut carrots? cause mine will leave carrot "rings" when I give them the crinkle cut ones...

I also know that when they package the pre-cut fruit that some grocers spray a preservative on the fruit to keep the appearance fresh, so be careful of that too. I'm with Peepers, cut my own, and sometimes I have to freeze it and break it up later, especially the watermelon and the cantelope, but they still devour it either way.

No, they eat the whole things when I give them crinkle cut. That's funny that yours leave rings. Reminds me of my daughter, eating everything but the crust of her sandwiches. But I refuse to be one of those moms that will cut off the crusts for her. I figure it's a life lesson. If you're going to be difficult and not eat the crust, the world's not gonna change to accommodate you.
