I was researching Naked Green Juice before adding to my gliders food.

Oh that is upsetting! I use the Green juice in place of water in the HPW complete! My breeder suggested it, and it's what she uses for her gliders.
My gliders (that I got from her, 2 of them are 6 years old) seem to love it. I wouldn't figure there would be garlic in it!
I hope someone can post some insight!

The brand I purchase is Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness. In a 52ounce bottle, there is 197mg of garlic!!!! holy cow! Is that a lot?

I use it. My gliders love it and the other Naked juices. I did see and have ask about the garlic. The amount is small when added to HPW Complete but, not used in place of the water.

1/2 cup HPW Complete + 1 and 1/2 cup Hot water + 1/2 cup Green Juice = 2 cups of Food

I asked this awhile ago and was told that the small amount of garlic when combined with their staple mix is very minute and wasn't thought to cause any issues.

I stopped feeding it in my staple because their urine was getting really stinky, thinking because of the broccoli & asparagus in the juice? Once I started using the regular staple again, the stink was gone! I still make a 1/3 of a batch of staple with green juice and feed it once a week because of the nutrients, just not everyday!

Please do NOT substitute the water in the HPW Complete with anything. If you wish to add the green juice that is fine, but it should NOT replace anything.

Also, the amount of garlic that are in these juices are not going to harm your gliders. People have been using all of these juices for years now and we have yet to see any negative side effects from it.

I feed Original HPW for my staple. Would I be able in to corporate Naked Juice in their diet? If so how so? Also does it have to be the Green Machine kind or can it be any kind of juice? I LOVE Naked juice and it would be cool to share it with my girlies.

I have been using Naked Green Juice in every batch of food I've made for the last 4 years. I used it in my OHPW,Complete and Plus. I have never once had a single issue with my gliders and I have a LOT of gliders to feed daily.


When feeding OHPW I added 1 cup of juice to the diet plan just as I do with plus/Complete. I didn't omit anything from the diet. Just the addition of juice when making a batch. I am sure other juices could be used in theory but I've never given my gliders anything that wasn't Naked Green Machine or Bolthouse Green Juice.

So when I make the mix I use 1 cup of water and 1 cup of juice instead two cups of water? Does it effect how the mix freezes?

Aubrey, if adding it into the Original you would make it as follows:

2 cups of water
1/4 WHPS
1-1/2 cup honey
3 scrambled eggs
1 Tablespoon of Bee pollen
1 cup of green juice

I just want to add that you don't have to add it to the *entire* batch. If you want, you can just add a little bit of the green juice into the HPW a couple of nights a week to give them something different

Thanks for the clarification on adding Green Juice to the HPW complete. I did think it was a little thick, but being new to the plan, it didn't occur to me that it was in addition to the water. Also, glad to hear that the small amount of garlic won't hurt the suggies.

This is an older post I found in research. I just started trying Naked juice myself and thought I remembered reading how some people served it to their gliders, hence the research.

I am thinking of trying as a bit of a treat, I want to know if all flavors are ok. We have: Green Machine, a Berry one, and I think a Mango blend. They all seem to pretty much have similar or same fruits in different amounts. I'm thinking of pouring a bit in the treat cups, would this be ok?
