My husband will be traveling to the East coast, and by going through Canada we can shave off a few hours of driving time. Does anyone have experience going through Canada with gliders, and then returning into the US? What would be the best government department to contact regarding this? If for some reason we cannot go through Canada with gliders, we will definitely be staying on the US route. I'm so excited though because on the way back from our road trip we are picking up a sweet platinum baby girl for us, and bringing her brother here to MI for another buyer

I would call Canada border patrol and ask them what you will need to travel through Canada.
I am going to say you will probably need health papers.
