Mine are also in the front room. They don't seem to care one bit about the noise levels or even the TV. They do get weirded out if people sit right by it and stare.
I did kinda change my evening habits though. I'm an up all night kinda person, so now I've started having lights out at 9pm and turn the volume down on the TV a bit.

Normally they are in the living room. We will roll them to our bedroom when the little grandkids visit. The youngest likes to bang toys on their cage.

My 3 cages are located on a sun porch with windows on 3 sides. I covered the wall behind the cages with two sheets of plexiglass to make cleaning easier than scrubbing painted walls. The floor is a vinyl 'wood' floor and it is very easy to sweep and damp mop. The porch opens out to the patio so I can easily roll the cages out for a good hose down scrubbing when needed. My gliders do not mind the TV that is on in the next room all day. They wake up about an hour after full sunset. If you locate your cage in a high traffic area they will probably be fine with the normal sounds in your home. The humans might have to adjust to turning lights out in the area of the cage in order to get the gliders to come out in the evenings.

Mine have been in my bedroom for the majority of the time I've had them. Each cage has spent time in the extra bedroom of the house I lived in before moving to AZ. That bedroom wasn't set up as a bedroom though, more like a multi-purpose room and was dubbed the "MP Room". We had our computer in there, the bowflex, storage, my desk/dresser that doubled where I did my make up, and also had a clothes pole for line drying clothes. So there was some activity in that room on and off throughout the day and evening. Then we moved them into the bedroom, and got them a bit larger cage. I can't say I'd never have them in the living room if I have that opportunity, but I do know I love having them in my room and hearing them move about at night and in the morning when I'm awake.
Lives with: 1 God 1 dog, (Willow) 1 Sugie, (Ollie) R.I.P. Lulu (2/28/12-10/13/17) R.I.P. Skadoosh (2/28/12-3/26/18)

Same problem in our house. I want to put them in the bedroom, but the Glider Mom sleeps too light. I could(and have) sleep through tornado scares.

When I moved into this apartment I had a hard time sleeping because the gliders and parrots were not in the room with me.
I was so used to having all five parrots and at that time 10 gliders in the room with me.
Although it is now 26 gliders and sometimes 37 when my friend comes up from Chicago for the weekend.

My babies have their own room. I am actually in the process of moving them to a larger room in my house. Mine would too if my kids would get out
