The Glider-arium is coming together.
The star of the show...just in, the Critter Nation.
Solid...easy to assemble, big....and these huge doors are a must have! Full plastic floor trays on every level, comfortable for little feet. Horizontal bar pattern, for easier climbing.
After much agonizing I am now confident I made the right choice. The whole front of this thing opens right up--it's awesome.
The Fur-babies sure seem to love it.

Part of this project is to make a good gliding path possible--so I put this shelf up as high as I could.
Gizmo was the first to climb to the top of the vine today. This is the highest spot in the room.

(Forgive my Ghetto Vines--just got lazy and did knots hehe.)
Trying to set things up so I have the longest possible throw for them to come flying to me. Eventually the shelves and vines will go all the way around the room. And then we will weave in some fake foliage to make it look jungle-like.

Hoping darker colors give me some extra latitude in what kinds of light I can use.
This area is about eye level next to the cage. Going to build different dioramas here and see if I can catch some funny pictures.

Trying to make the colors all dark, to make it more comfortable on their eyes. Obviously we have a difference of opinion as to how bright the room should be during playtime.

A work in progress.
Thanks for looking everyone!

I have 2 critter nation cages, so its 2 foot higher, but they are great and you made a really good choice.
The only thing I did different, I DIDN'T install the center shelf so its ONE BIG OPEN SPACE. I did put in one of the side shelves for food.

Ok, I just disassembled the Critter Nation cage and removed the center divider. This is exactly what I was after. So much room! And I can still put in the smaller shelves and racks if I want. It's practically a walk-in closet. Still good and solid even without the divider.
Now I need a giant fake resin tree branch...

I Also put some sandpaper on my wheel. I need to put an odometer on that thing--they are wearing it out.
Thanks for the tip on the divider, Chainsaw!

Hey....question for anyone who might know. I think I know the answer to this but...
Fake plants from say...Hobby Lobby...no flocking on them..strictly plastic and some fabric. Also...fake ivy, made of same? These ok in a glider cage?

Yes, those are all fine as long as there is no wire in the stems in case the gliders chew them.

I have even purchased vines/ivy at Dollar Tree and there is definitely no wire in those. Just depends on how much you want to spend because they will eventually tear them apart (or mine did wink ) Found leaves in pouches rofl

I just bought the Petsmart equivalent of the Critter Nation that will be going up soon! I'm really excited about this big cage!

What is the petsmart equivalent? I'm looking into upgrading (already) but the most inexpensive Critter Nation was $215 on Amazon.

I just bought a DCN from amazon and it was 239.78 with tax, over weight shipping (like 4.00). It's due in the 17th.
