Unfortunately Apollo passed away 5/20/2016 at 6pm at the vets office. Turns out he had an issue with his liver. He had been acting totally normal, except not sleeping in his pouch. Even the vet said it was normal (right before I decided to take him in) he died suddenly 4 hours later while we were still at the vets. I'm absolutely heartbroken and still crying, but today I got a call to adopt 2 rescue gliders. Of course I took them in. I think it was a sign not to stay really upset about it. I just figured I'd let you guys know apollo passed and that's why I haven't replied.. I've just been terribly heart broken.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I think it's a good thing though that you took in a needing pair.

My rescues are Hera and Zeus they're around 1-2 years old. The rescue never had teal with gliders before so they were completely clueless about them. They have a vets appointment on Friday as I'm 100% sure the male is not neutered and that the female may be preggo. So far they've been adjusting well. Their only issues of course are barking (they will bark all night long! I get up multiple times to assure them they are ok and give them a treat lol). They have weird wake and sleep times. Up at around 10pm asleep around 10am. Apollo was usually 8pm-8am, and their other issue is not wanting to stay in the cage. The second I open it they pop right out and are climbing all over me lol. They're super sweet, the female (Hera) has only bitten me twice. I didn't realize there was a whole on the back of my sweats.. it really hurt my behind lol. I really miss my apollo.. he was so sweet aside from always biting fingers and hands. He loved to terrorize our kitty and the dog was trying to play mommy to him. I can tell my dog misses him.. I keep trying not to cry thinking about him.. he was just so awesome. He knew his name and would happily sleep in one of my pockets. Or he'd hop right into the bonding pouch knowing we'd be going on an adventure. These guys, I'm trying to give space to start the bonding process, but they seem more interested in investigating me instead of going into pouches lol I'm glad I rescued them. I think getting another baby would have just reminded me too much of apollo..
