I've been reading a ton of posts on wheels. There are so many out there....

I have concluded that I should not pick a wheel that has the center bolt in there because of the way they like to hop/run. So any of those are out.

That leaves(I think):

Silent Runner
Wodent Wheel
Raptor Wheel

Am I missing any?
And do you guys (or your gliders) tend to prefer the side cage mount or the stand?
Any preferences on where to buy?

Thank you!

Stay away from the Wodent wheel. They get dirty fast and you must keep them super clean.

The axle can deglove a gliders tail if it gets stuck on there.

It has also resulted in one fatality that I know of, the glider got stuck to the filthy axle and broke its back. The wheel was filthy and this was a horrible accident that could have been avoided by keeping the wheel clean and using the safety cover you can get for the axle.

You will be much happier with a Silent Runner,Raptor Wheel, Custom Cruiser or a wheel from Spinzone Global.

We have the following from Spinzone: standard and travel wheel, and a treadmill.

We also have a raptor wheel from Atticworx.

Mine prefer the raptor wheel.

I believe the Raptor is from David, the Stealth and new Freedom wheel is from Atticworx.

Has anyone tried the Freedom Stealth from AtticWorx yet? I can't decide between the standard Stealth or the Stealth Freedom Wheel.

And with the Stealth wheel, I see the idea behind the xmount but if you don't chose that and just do the standard side mount, how does that attach to the cage, I've looked but can't see what they use instead of the xmount.

I have two of the Freedom wheels from the makers of the Stealth wheel and so far I am very happy with them.

There is no place for the urine and poop to get into like the bucket lids. So they smell cleaner longer.

Are they just as sturdy as the bucket ones? They look like they might be flimsy in the photos but I can't quite tell. Its nice as they are cheaper and the nail tracks are cheaper too.

Yes, they are all one piece. I was surprised.

I have three Wodent wheels but after reading all that I have I ordered two Stealth wheels-one for each of my large cages as I am petrified that something could happen. Love the side mount and glad I got these new ones.
I have the Wodent wheel with the foam middle and two of the very large ones. Not sure what to do with these as not sure if they are safe to give away for some other type critter?

I wonder if a hamster could use them? No tails or loose flappy side skin.

Thanks Hydrus and I will see if they can find a home for a hamster!
