I have a dehydrator and have thought about dehydrating salads but not sure as I have never done this.
The other question I have, if I freeze the salad how long will the mixtures keep?

I just freeze the salad mixtures. I am not sure what to tell you as far as how long they last.

I freeze them in shoe box sized plastic totes. I put one in the freezer above the fridge and that is the one we feed out of til it is gone.

The other two go in the deep freeze so they don't get freezer burned.

I don't know about dehydrating, Peggy has freeze dried salads that you can ad water too, but am not sure about the other dehydrating methods.

Did you get a booklet with your dehydrator? If so, it should tell you what foods are best dehydrated and what foods are not. If it doesn't, there should be a website for the one you have or you could possibly even google for the information.

I used to have one when my son was young to do fruits and things that didn't have to be re-hydrated with water or another liquid. Gliders take the liquid out of many of their fruits and veggies, so I'm not sure they would even eat dehydrated veggies especially or fruits for that matter
dunno

Okay, thanks guys and good to know. I will freeze the salad and fruit mixtures then since the gliders are interested in the juice mainly.
