So basically, I have never owned any sugar gliders before but I've done some research and was thinking of maybe getting a pair. I am well aware that the price of this cage is really high but I saw someone selling it on Craigslist at a much cheaper price, it's sold now but in case it happens again I want to know if it's a good cage or if there's something that I'm overlooking. Thank you smile

That is some cage.

Important points are going to be:

How easy is it to clean?

Will you be able to move it easily?

Does it have half inch or less bar spacing?

Is the wood sealed? Sugar gliders urine would seep into the wood and cause the cage to smell.

I agree with Kim..The mesh spacing is 1"×1" on the top and bottom. The holes are too big for a sugar glider. You would need a finch or parakeet flight cage.

That's a beautiful piece of furniture on top of being a cage!

Another thing to consider is gliders pee on everything, so you have to be able to reach the insides of the cage to wipe/wash them down on a regular basis. They will spend a lot of time climbing on the wire. Especially to get your attention for a treat.

Thank you for your replies. smile

One of the reasons that I like this cage is because out of the space I have and where it would make sense to put it, this cage would provide the most space for the Gliders. If I make a smaller stand, remove the lighting on top, then I have a spot that would work well for this cage, otherwise I would have to go with a smaller cage and less room for the Gliders. I also like this cage because my cats wouldn't be able to reach through it. It seems like a nice cage but you do make a point about the cleaning, urine, and bar spacing.

Pros:
Cats can't reach through
Has a pull out tray
Has wire for climbing
They say it's ventilated
Spacious
Divider
If I were to buy new (don't really want to spend that much) they offer to customize the cage to your request, such as spacing in the wire and stuff
It sounds like they coat the wood
Looks nice
And it has a spot for food dishes

Cons:
It may be ventilated but how ventilated?
Are there any coatings used that would hurt Gliders?
Placing things might be hard but idk
Glider urine might seep into somewhere and be hard to clean
How hard would it be to clean in-between the wire and the acrylic?
The default wire has a 1" spacing
Would it hurt for the Gliders to grab the wire?
The wire is on the sides, top, and I think bottom but not the back of the cage

If there is another reasonable Craigslist ad it's possible I could DIY it to try and make it Glider safe, such as the wire spacing, or I could diy the whole cage, I'd rather not diy the whole thing, but it is an option

If you want something that looks more like a piece of furniture, I would look on Pinterest. Search flight cage or small animal cage diy. People have repurposed buffet and hutches. I even saw a couch table with a full width drawer that was used as a drop pan. Now having said that, I don't recommend using anything with wood. They will chew, pee and poop on it. If it could be covered that would be great. 1"x 1/2" powder coated mesh is ideal.

If you didn't have cats, I'd recommend a PVC cage. There are Utube videos on that. But if you build it for a tall table top, it might work.

I totally understand why you would like that cage but the price is so over the top. You can piece together some Critter Nation cages and make the same thing but in a form that has sugar gliders and other small mammals in mind. I picked up a Deluxe Critter Nation and an Add-On made a very large cage, but I have seen one then one person take two Deluxe Critter Nations and connect them side by side to create an extra wide cage. The way they go together gives a lot of freedom in cage assembly.
