Hey everyone 👋 I was thinking about buying some new toys for our gliders and I was wondering what to look for... I don't want them to get choked or hurt so I was hopping yall could help me find some new toys for our furry babies. The male likes to carry the plastic rings in his tail so anything to encourage him to tail carry would be awesome.

Here are some I thought about... (are they safe?)

Poptubes...Reduced Size: 4.92 inches

Extended Size: 17.71 inches

Material: High quality PP

Stringy Balls.... Size in picture

Stretchy Strings Sensory Fidget toys

Mini Bear Toy 4.7 Inch Stuffed... (it has stuffing in it and a bow so would that be ok?)

Snuffle Pads....size in picture

Any suggestions for toys would be much appreciated too thanks 😊

Sorry for the delayed response.
I personally would not use any of these for gliders as they will chew and destroy all of them pretty quick.
Several of them, especially the plastic ones, can be a choking hazard when they chew off the little 'nubs'.

Look through our Archive Toys, etc forum for ideas.

Do you have a glider safe wheels?

Safe toys for sugar gliders is a huge subject. Do you want to buy, or DIY?

Here are a few links of vendors who sell glider safe toys:

So in looking around, I found that there are many vendors that may have 1 or 2 items that I feel aren't safe. Craft pompoms are one of the most used, but also very unsafe due to threads once they tear it apart. They can wrap around teeth and toes. Also dyed feathers are unsafe. Only natural colors should be given.

Here is a good video that talks about safe toys and what can happen if the toy isn't safe. What the video and it will give you a better perspective.

Dawn has given you great advice. You can make your own pompoms out of fleece. Childrens plastic bracelets are a favorite of tail carriers. They will spend all night carrying them back to their sleeping pouches.

Our guys have safe foraging toys and wheels, mostly they use the wheel and spend the rest of the time taking apart their toys. Untying knots are fun.
