If you put the rep-cal in a coffee grinder or food processor until it turns to a fine powder and you won't have the problem of it separating in the Ensure mix (even if you freeze it).

Rep-Cal is not very fine out of the bottle; it is kind of grainy. Grinding it further will give it the consistency of flour or powder sugar, which makes it just right to dissolve properly into Ensure. You can do the same with BML, it will give it a smoother texture.

Rep cal is not supposed to be used with the ensure diet (darcy's diet)... or so I thought.... although others have had problems with the powdered calcium that is supposed to be used and have used a liquid form instead. Krystal on these forums uses a liquid form.. you could ask her how it is adjusted.

[:"CC6699"]Rep cal without Vitamin D can be used with the Ensure diet, but isnt what is prefered because of it settling to the bottom. But I don't have a problem with mine settling to the bottom, or atleast I don't think I do, because their bowls are always totally clean in the morning. [/]

What a terrific idea! One test is to put half a teaspoon or so in a small glass, stir, and see how long it takes to settle out. The RepCal I bought settled out like sand within a few minutes. JurassiCal takes much longer. But if the bowls are licked clean by morning, I don't think it matters if it settles out, as they are getting it in them anyway.

The rep-cal I get has a consistency close to salt (not quit as grainy), but nowhere as fine as something like flour, powdered sugar or corn starch. You might be getting a better brand. When I grind it up I have know problem with it settling at the bottom frozen or unfrozen. It just an easy way to get it to mix that works for me, just trying to be helpful
