Hello all. I wanted to see if I could get some feedback on Scrat's current
diet. Having the E-Collar on, he refuses to eat anything he needs to use his hands for EXCEPT mealies which I hold with tweezers and he chews on. He is also not eating what I would consider to be "enough" so I have been using a syringe to feed him 2x a day. He is drinking TONS of water though so we have no problems with him becoming dehydrated. (He really loves having a little honey mixed in his water!)
Ok, so this is a list of the foods I have been feeding him in the last week or so:
*Healthy Times Organic Baby Foods*
- Island Fruit Jumble (Guava, Banana & Mango)
- Papaya
- Butternut Squash
- Baby Sweet Peas
- Oatmeal Cereal (Cereal, Apple & Banana)
- Sweet Potatoes
- Chicken & Pear
*Ensure, Wild Berry Shake* + Calcium Citrate
For each feeding, I either feed:
1) 3.5 cc of: Island Fruit Jumble, Butternut Squash, Oatmeal Cereal, Chicken & Pear
and 4.5 cc Ensure Wild Berry
OR
2)3.5 cc of: Papaya, Baby Sweet Peas, Oatmeal Cereal, Sweet Potatoes
and 4.5 cc Ensure
I have started feeding him twice a day because he does not like the taste of his antibiotics so I use the food right after to get the taste out of his mouth.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
*Oh yes, I have tried several versions of feeders which would allow him to eat with the cone on and have ended up returning them all with no luck!
