thanks for the welcome! :-)
our little ones... lol... we're totally crazy about them! that's for sure! lol i can't imagine not having them.
our poppie has just been neutered today! yay! i just got off the phone with teresa (dancing) a little while ago and she says he is doing great and being his usual bra snuggling sweet self! lol she says he will just get even more lovey and sweet now that he is neutered, and i think that is wonderful!
we have mommie, she has 1 joey IP right now. she's a sweetheart also, but a bit crabby at times. she was the same way before her first joey came OOP. once the baby was OOP, she was all fine and dandy and would even let us hold the baby (from day 1 even!) while she went to eat or run the wheel.
and there is beanie, our 13 wk OOP joey from mommie and poppie. she came OOP just 9 days after we first got mommie and poppie! the previous owners had no idea that mommie had a joey IP, but we knew within half an hour of being around them. so beanie has been a delightful little surprise! she is just the most adorable and charming thing in this world! lol and totally rotten! lol she's our "barker" and will bark until someone comes to pick her up! lol
and last, but not least, is our lacy. she currently has 2 joeys IP! she's been a bit more of a challenge than mommie and poppie, but she has really come a long way! slow and steady progress makes us happy! she is a real character and has developed a "relationship" with one of our cats (jackie, a longhaired grey male) and its' hilarious to see them sit and "visit" with each other through the cage. they look at each other, and make little
sounds at each other. if one of them is down near "their spot" the other one will come running and they will sit together for a while. it's kind of weird! lol but cute!
we have a young male joey coming to us at christmas time. he is a couple weeks younger than our beanie girl. we got him to hopefully be a companion to beanie, so they could grow up together. we'll be getting him neutered at the end of jan when he is 4 months old.
if any of the IP joeys are male, we will be having them neutered as soon as they are old enough. this completes our little colony and we are overjoyed with these furry little additions to our family. my mom is 80 years old and just recently moved from california to kansas to live with us. i was really surprised that she likes them so much too! beanie and her and really become attached. beanie goes in to visit with grammy every night for an hour or so in her pouch. my mom slips her hand inside the pouch and beanie curls up in the curve of her hand and goes to sleep. it's so sweet.
ok, you said you wanted to hear about our little ones... not hear me drone on and on! lol sorry! lol ya just can't get me started!!! LOL i'm glad to be here though, lots of neat people and great information! thanks!
