I have a question, please help me understand ok? Putting my questions/thoughts in typing is one of the hardest things for me, one reason I rarely join in the diet discussions, but I do read them and understand them. Also, please do not make this personal (I use BML, and Bourbon is a good friend of mine). IF Bml was designed as stated too many times to count, because the High Protein S. was not available in the states, yet was preferable....now that is IS available, are we not moving forward using it?

[:"blue"] Karin: The stuff that was part of the original Leadbeater's Mix was a high protein baby cereal. The material that is the subject of several current GC threads is a high protein supplement made by Wombaroo and is a totally different material from what was in the mix that Bourbon was trying to replicate. It may turn out that this new HPS is just fine to use in glider diets. But right now, very few people have much experience with it. One thing that will be a concern to some people is the ingredients of the supplement. You will remember that not too long ago there was an extensive discussion of soy products and whether or not they were safe. Don't know that the issue was ever resolved, but take a guess as to what one of the two major ingredients is in the Wombaroo HPS??? [/]

I hadn't read the entire thing on PML, but partially because I am not confident enough to step into a diet discussion- we don't have gliders yet... but I do know a lot about foods.. and being that we worry about phosphorous vs calcium levels in things... soy protein isolate is very high in phosphorous in comparison the calcium in it! see this link: http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s03dx.htmlIt is a nutritional breakdown of soy protein isolate. both items are under minerals about halfway down on the right... does the wombaroo or other things in the PML recipe have enough other calcium in it to compensate for that?? just a thought. I am going with the Glidernest diet because we are getting our gliders from Ernie and they are already on it for one, and for 2 it is closer to our human diet then BML (in this house) so more supplies will be on hand readily, as well as seeming to have the balanced nutrition and research done on it. (I like Lindsay take acacia as a supplement on a daily basis, so having it stock in the house means its not a stretch to use it for my gliders) Amie

Thank you very much for the replies. I was mistaken then, I thought the HPS was the unavailable ingredient ie: the cereal.

Oh yes, it was available here. I used to feed it to my kids! However, I don't know the exact date it stopped being available, but I was feeding it in 1966 and 1968. I also don't know the reason behind it's demise, but my kids are still alive and kicking and both produced some healthy offspring to boot!

Here is a thread from some time back when High Protein Cereal was questioned and the responses that came with it. As for the High Protein Wombaroo, yes I have been using it, my kiddos are loving it and I am doing tons of researching and emailing different educated folks in the area.
