I saw the website toandfrogliders and can see all the different types of gliders. I'm wondering about some more in depth information about the coloring possibilities.
I want to know what types of gliders mated together, make what colors. Such as....
standard grey + standard grey = ?????
For those two standard greys, what are the possibilities for their offspring. I want to know every offspring possible, for every combination of breeding gliders.
I know this is probably a very in depth thing to know. If nobody is aware of such information gathered together, I think it would be a great project for all the members of this site to help make.

To get a white faced glider one parent must also be a white faced glider. But the other parent can be any color.
From these you can have, dpending on what color the other parent is: WF Grey WF Blonde WF Lion WF Buttercream WF Cinnie WF Champaign WF Leucistic (which you wouldn't know until they are paired with a non wf and have a wf baby of their own.)

Actually, if you go to the very bottom of the "Meet the Family" page on To and Fro's site, Sheila has set up a wonderful page that shows all of the glider colors

I guess my best bet is going to be to make a large list of all the different breeding combinations and just add things to it as I find out more since nobody has ever made such a list before.

http://petsugargliders.com has a genetics page that gives information on how most of the colors are produced. For a quite over view... Gray, WF, and Mosaic are dominant. Albino, Cremino, and Leucistics are recessive. Not much is known about the WT gene because it's very inconsistent. Colors like buttercream, cinni, lion, etc. are are kind of hard to explain. They seem to increase color when you pair 2 of the same (cinni x cinni) and decrease in color when you breed out (cinni x gray), but that is not always the case...

Ok, I have some questions. According to toandfrogliders there are the types of color variations that may occur in gliders.....
Standard Gray Brownie Cinnamon Buttercreme White Tipped Tail Blonde White Faced Blonde White Faced Grey White Faced Sunkissed White Faced Lion Lion Champagne White Champagne Gold Champagne White Faced Blonde White Faced Platinum Platinum Mozaic Ringtail Calico Platinum Mozaic Leucistic Albino
Is that all there can be? I have many other variations that I can think of by looking at the list (ex. white face brownie or white face cinnamon).
Can all color variations have a mutation and become a "white face"?

no that is not all the variations.
plus black beauty was forgotten.
and I know you can add lots of other combinations to mosaic.
and I believe calico isn't actually a color, there was a discussion about this in another post with pricilla...turned out it was just staining from a wild caught glider.

Black Beauty is a controversial "color". Many feel that it is just a dark version of grey. They do have distinct charastistics though. Yes, there can be wf cinnimons. Cinnimons are much more rare than people think. Many people will say that this grey joey was born to cinnie parents and will "color up" when it gets older. True cinnimon gliders are born cinnimon. If they are born grey and "color up" then it is due to diet or scent staining, not true coloring. Many gliders have been sold as adults as cinnimon and simple diet changes returns them to their natural beautiful grey coloring. True cinnies are born cinnie and stay cinnie through out their lives. I've never seen a "brownie" and am not convinced they are an actual color. I think they are a red (cinnimon) variation combined with staining. I could very well be wrong though. I would love to see a brownie joey. Also, I've seen "sunkissed" joeys but I've never seen a "sunkissed" adult. Is it possible that the "sunkissed" is simply pouch staining?

Teresa, brownies/chocolates are a real color. I have a couple (all related) they come OOP a brown color and can either become a dark milk chocolate brown or lighten up to a like an almond color... Molly is my best example. She is a deep rich dark brown. Very obviously different when next to a normal gray glider.

What about Blonds? My WFB's have a new little one but I don't think it is WF can she be Blonde. She is very light.

Can someone please tell me what the difference between a WF Grey and a WF Blonde is? Perhaps with pics of both? I thought they were the same thing.

If I'm not mistaken, WF greys have the grey color on their body, and WF blondes have a lighter "blondish" color to them. I'll try to find some pics, if I can't I'm sure someone will come along with them!

So lets see...
White Faced Ringtail White Faced Calico White Faced Lion White Faced Brownie White Faced Buttercreme White Faced White Tipped Tail White Faced Mozaic White Faced Platinum Mozaic
All all these possible colors of gliders as well??
What exactly is the difference between a Champagne White and a Platinum, or Leucistic? Aren't they all white gliders? And if a Platinum glider is basically a white glider, what exactly is the difference between a regular platinum and a white faced platinum?

Well we learned recently that there is no calico. What we thought was a calico was actually a stained mosaic.
Yes, you could have white faced in any of the above colors, it is it's own seperate gene that can be passed on seperately form the others.
A champagne is lighter grey with a fading stripe, platnum is mostly white with a little grey, and leu is completely white, no grey at all.

One of my rescues looks like your Tink. I was wondering too. Cause the line down their back is a brown not a black, too.
If you find out let me know!
