Is there a special diet? What's been your experience? Thanks, Ann & glider pod

We have a little rescue boy who is very old that had some kind of horrific trauma to his face at some point in his life. His lower jaw is completely deformed as the bone has fused together in bad way after being shattered. His two bottom incisors are very loose, basically just hanging there. We took him to the vet to have them surgically removed only to find out that the bone has regrown around the root in such a way that they cannot be taken out. He is fed the same diet as everybody else but we have to puree his portions to be much more liquid consistency. When he gets mealworms they have to be white and soft just after molting or he can't chew them. He gets along just fine though on his old man diet lol.

I have one with a missing bottom incisor. We think he may have had a jaw injury too but not sure. His bottom tooth was pushed back toward the top of the roof of his mouth. The vet took it out and we kept him on soft food for a week. He eats EVERYTHING now. Boiled chicken, mealies. yogurt drops, HPW, veggies, mac n cheese, fingers... anything he can get a hold of smile

Missing incisors........I've had multiple gliders who have had to have incisors removed. My Nicky lost both of his incisors years ago and he didn't have any difficulties with his diet. I tend to cut food up into smaller pieces so he was able to pick them up and bite with his back teeth, but he was able to eat the same foods as the others. I also have several gliders who have had one incisor removed and they do just fine also. They actually do better without their incisors than they did when the incisors were there but loose.
