Local honey?

Is local honey ok to feed gliders?
The reason I ask, I have been a vegetarian for 2 years. When I stopped eating meat, I stopped eating eggs and any kind of dairy but I didn't think of myself as vegan because I didn't stray away from animal tested makeup and hair dye but recently I have cut out all animal tested products. The only problem I have left is honey. I don't eat it but it is one of the ingredients in the HPW diet I feed my gliders. My whole reason behind being vegan is because I don't agree with the ways animals are raised, abused, neglected, and tortured to become food. My thoughts: If I can see how the animals are raised and treated, I feel a little better about taking from them. I would, in all honesty, rather raise an animal myself before I would want to take from it. Just dairy, I still wouldn't eat the meat. I want to be able to see how the bees are kept to feel at ease about feeding my gliders honey.
To be clear: I will NOT cut out the honey in my gliders diet. If local honey is not safe, I will (reluctantly) go to the store and buy honey. Their health and happiness mean more to me than a title of vegan vs vegetarian.

Local honey should be fine as long as you are getting it from local bee keepers that own the hives. Bee keepers are actually very protective of their hives and transport them from grove to grove when various trees are blooming.

Bee keepers provide a service to the local growers, Honey is a by product that they can sell.

I would not use honey gathered from wild hives however. Some wild bees choose varieties of trees to gather from that results in absolutely AWFUL bitter honey!

Is there a certain kind of honey I should use? Or just any honey from non-wild hives?

I believe the differences in flavors between different varieties of honey probably make more difference to HUMAN taste buds than to gliders. Any honey sold for human use is OK for your gliders.

Local honey should be much much better. Most of that stuff sold in stores I don't call honey. It tastes like thick sugar. Real honey has such variety of flavor and so much flavor. It's entirely different. My grandpa had bee hives while I was growing up. There's no way I'd give my gliders what I've deemed "fake honey".

You can raise your own bees real easy so long as you aren't afraid of them. There are some really easy to make hives out there that take up very little space and even in a small yard honey bees pose little danger unless someone is allergic. You'll rarely suffer a sting so long as you respect the bees and don't mess with their hive when they aren't in a good mood. I keep meaning to build my hive and even have the wood cut but didn't get to it this year and I have to take a few extra precautions since I'm very highly allergic to bees. A sting in the wrong place and I probably wouldn't make the emergency room.

I thought about doing that but I am kinda scared of bees. My mom and dad are both allergic to bees so I don't really even want to take a chance that I am as well. That's why I asked about the local honey. I don't mind visiting the bee keepers but I just don't want to take that chance to raise them on my own.
