NO luck with bras... - 01/27/05 09:12 PM

So I know that there is a post up right now about bra training. I thought all the info was helpful. I tried the sports bra over my normal one. She basically freaked out. She wouldnt even stay in there for more than 5 seconds. LOL and scratched her way out. Anyway what do I do now? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!!

Have you tried one of those tank tops with the built in bra? kinda like a shelf for them...yoshie loves my shirt like that, but only when I get him when he's super tired. Do you try putting her in your shirt right after you scoop her out of her pouch?

I have the same problem. My babies do NOT like the bra (nor am I really well endowed enough to support them!). They love to be in my shirt though and do not like to stay in a pouch. Since I am very sensitive to their nails, I always have on two layers and they like to get in the rolled-over cuff part of my sweatshirt. I am thinking of taking a couple of t-shirts and sewing them together at the bottom and the sleeves and then just sticking them down the neck hole, but I'm not sure how this will work on getting them out! What other methods do people use other than bras????

Thanks so much!

Try it during the day when they are sleepy. They may not even notice the difference if they are used to your scent. A lot of people are able to do things like trim their nails and such when they are that sleepy. I tried to wake mine up for dinner one night, and pulled him out of his pouch and put him on my shirt. He immediately dived down my shirt so he could go back to sleep!

I tried that too, but when I get them out of the cage, they want to play inside my shirt for about 15 minutes and then they snuggle back down. Thanks for the idea though!

I do it when she is tried during the day..she just seems to be scared of going down there. I give her plenty of room. I've tried the tank top too. I guess maybe she just wasnt cut out for it.

Just because she doesn' t like it one day doesn't mean she won't ever. Don't give up. Mine stays there forever until I basically wake them up. Usually they are there for up to 12-14 hours. I just go about my business and they are fine. I always put a slice of apple or grape in there also for each of them and their blankie. Never give up.

I personally didn't start with the sports bra either. I was afraid my gliders would get smushed, for lack of filling. However I never used the tanks with a built in either. I personally have a fitted Tank top that provides support for the suggies, and they just stay in there all day long. I tuck the Tank in my pants/shorts what ever and when i go out I put a shirt on over my tank top. Now if you choose to use my method, make sure until your little one is comfortable with being in there, and just bring along a bonding pouch. Best of luck to you

My little Damon loves to climb down my shirt, but today he checked it out and came right back out and headed for the pouch. I think it's because I am wearing white. I usually wear dark colors - black more often than not. So, it's dark in there for him. My pouches are almost all black, too. So, I think that he prefers to be in darkness to sleep. Maybe if you try switching between light and dark - since most gliders sleep with the light, they might be opposite of mine.
