While I agree that most gliders need to have a companion (another glider) to be happy, some just refuse to have a cage mate. My Sebastian had the love of his life and she passed away. He grieved unlike any other glider I've seen. Since, I've tried him with numerous other gliders and he will sort of accept them into his cage but he keeps his distance and over grooms. He doesn't fight with them, but it is obvious that he is unhappy about it. He seems to like having neighbors he can talk to but doesn't want to share his house with anyone. I haven't given up but it looks like he will remain a single glider (with neighbors).
I completely agree. I have just one bachelor. He refuses to go in with anyone else, no matter how much I try. He just doesn't want any other glider. I still have faith that one day, he will accept the other boys. For now, he fights with them but enjoys my comapny. So, he gets a ton of attention and mealies.
Either way, I do not recommend getting a glider as a single, for your pet. I have heard stories where single gliders tend to have more medical problems than the ones with friends.
It would be your best bet, and the gliders best bet to get it a friend.
