I could use some prayers. I've still got Coco puff in quarrentine!

Question? She is grooming herself but does she still need stimulated to go potty???

Looking at her picture, based on her size and the fact that her tail is already getting fluffy, I would guesstimate her age at about 5 weeks out of pouch. She should be going potty on her own by now so you shouldn't have to stimulate her. For information on how much to feed, how often, etc. go to my page about Hand Raising A Joey - there is a section on Joeys 4-6 Weeks OOP that will be useful to you. As for feeding the joey, since you're in Australia, you will have better options than we do here in the States. I recommend using either Leadbeater's Mix (made slightly thinner than standard) or Wombaroo (if available).
Best Wishes & please keep us posted on her progress...

LOL I'm in Melbourne Florida!

Thanks for the info.

From what I understand she was in a cage that was too small with several other gliders (prob som inbreeding going on. this one was rejected.

How are you feeding her?

I do have some French cath's if you need them - though at 5 weeks she should be licking food up.

I hand-raised one of my joeys so I know how exhausting (and rewarding!) it can be. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. I will be in Melbourne on Thursday through Sunday and over the next few weekends as well.

Thank you! I've got a couple of small syringes. We're doing fine so far but I'll let you know if I need anything! She hasn't eaten much yet but things have changed for her so much in the past few hours!

I've also got phone numbers of several people that know all about this.

We're thinking of naming her Xena warrior princess! She's got some serious fight in her!

Kayla-

I agree with suz- she looks to be about 5-6wks oop. I got my Harmony around the same age. I put her on the Basic Bml mix and she did great. I offered solid form fruits and veggies but she wouldn't take to them that early- so I used baby food till she was about 8wks oop. If your not comfortable using baby fruits and veggies- you could use the veggie relish & fruit smoothie receipes. I also offered her fruits and veggies through licky treats through the day to keep food in her belly.

One thing I worried about- was the amount she was eating only because I wasn't experienced with joey's that young. I was assured they will not eat a complete serving at such a young age- Harmony ate about half the tablespoon servings till about 8-9wks old. Now she is completely finishing a tablespoon serving.

If you can- get a weight check and keep track.

Good idea! We have a scale for weighing mail! I got her take a .5 cc! I'm checking every 3 hours. Likely more LOL.

Now I gotta work on getting her a cage!

her not eating much totally is my biggest concern!

Thanks you!

She's doing great! She's eating and drinking and going potty.

She's very playful in the early morning. She's eating really well every 3-4 hours. I'll weigh her later today.

roflmao I saw Melbourne and automatically thought Australia! Didn't even see the Florida shakehead That's what I get for skimming your profile instead of really reading it!
Anyway, since you ARE here in the States, you shouldn't have any trouble with feeding her either thumb Sounds like you've got it all under control! Glad she's eating and going potty for you just fine heart

No problem! We've had people from Australia cancel orders from us when they realized we were NOT in australia! LOL

Thanks for the links! They helped a lot.

She is doing great! She's 24 grams. I'll keep checking on that.

I still have her in the critterkeeper when she's not in my bra. I've got a little parakeet cage for when she's ready for something bigger
