The laws of being rescuers and being state licensed. If there are limits on how many animals you can have within your care at one time .When you are the only care giver to said animals.

State license you'd have to check with MO about that. I know they just voted in a new law that limits dog/cat breeders but rescuers are different and I don't know if that law effects rescuers/shelters.

There are no USDA laws that restrict rescuers as far as numbers go.

The only USDA law are for breeding, brokering, and exhibiting.

IF you are charging rehoming fees/adoption fees, then legally you are SELLING gliders.

Im checking on this since I have ran into a 501 rescue that the conditions these animals are being taken care of is just not right. So Im seeing what can be done to help the animals in this rescues care.

the 501 is only a "tax" status and has really nothing to do with how the "facility" is being run.

If you feel the animals are not being cared for properly, contact animal control. Missouri has really been stepping up to try and help the animals (the new laws are supposed to help control some of the puppy mills and such).

You can also call the Missouri Humane Society (or email them) and ask them.

They have a section on their website about how to report neglect or abuse.

Of course, I'm assuming this 501 is in Missouri.

Would this be the same for all states?

Yes Karen it is, it's just a tax status so it would be the same every where.
